We work with businesses, civic organizations, or individuals to design a fun and rewarding volunteer program.

Each year volunteers log about 17,000 hours. This community support saves the Food Bank thousands of dollars

every year, keeping our overhead low and our productivity levels high.

Volunteer and Community Service Restitution Policies:

· Volunteer work hours are Monday-Friday, 9:00 am to 3:00 p.m.

· Volunteers may participate in Special Events when requested.

· Community Service Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older to work at the food bank without a parent or legal guardian.

· Volunteers will complete a Volunteer Application.

· Volunteers are required to participate in a minimum of 60-120 minutes training and then continued on-the job training.

· V olunteers will sign in and sign out each day on the volunteer work log to record hours and date of work.

· Volunteers are to clock in and out on a time card using the time clock and have a Brazos Food Bank employee initialize the time card after they have clocked out.

· Volunteers will conduct themselves in a safe manner to avoid injury to themselves and others. Dress  and shoe are to be appropriate for warehouse work. Shoes must be close-toed.

· The wearing of stereo headphones is prohibited.

· Cell phones may only be used during scheduled break times or in the case of an emergency.

· Scheduled break times are 11:00-11:15 a.m. and 1:00-1:15 p.m. Volunteers who wish to take a break at other times must clock out on the time clock.

· Volunteers will demonstrate respect to other volunteers, visitors and staff and not express any form of discrimination or sexual harassment.

· Volunteers may not remove any BFB food or non-food products from premises.

· Volunteers may not consume BFB food or drink unless a BFB staff member offers it to them.

· Volunteers may be required to end their volunteer work for misconduct or failure to follow lawful instructions.

· The Brazos Food Bank will release information of community service hours worked as requested by appropriate courts and probation offices. The Brazos Food Bank will release this information to a parent or guardian for community service volunteers under the age of 18.
